Peter Pan
In 1980, Trina was asked to illustrate a new edition of J. M. Barrie's"Peter Pan." She writes in the book's preface as being astonished to be asked to do the illustrations for this classic work. Could she do them?
In looking at the characters in the book, Trina felt they had been written for her personally. She was Peter, she could identify with Wendy, Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily, and all those clueless Lost Boys. They were all her, and she knew exactly how it would be to live in Neverland. She wrote that she hoped that would be the place she would go when she died.
Trina, we will all miss you.
I hope you found your Neverland. |
